Each year, women from the region come together at Galilee to explore meaningful questions and envision a pathway to abundant living.

Brave Enough to Hope: Faith, Courage, and Justice in the Storm

What does it mean to be women of faith in a world that feels divided, anxious, and overwhelming?

In Mark’s Gospel, the disciples find themselves in a boat with Jesus as a storm rises around them. Afraid and overwhelmed, they cry out, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

Many of us know that question. What does faithful courage look like in uncertain times?  Who are we becoming in the boat?

This year at Galilee, we will gather by the water to explore how hope is not naïve optimism, but a brave and communal act. Through teaching, small group conversation, prayer, embodied practice, play, and worship, we will reflect on how faith shapes us into women of steady courage and justice-rooted love.

Come ready to rest deeply, speak honestly, laugh freely, and leave strengthened for the storms ahead.

Led by the Rev. Hannah Wilder and Dr. Kathy Wilder.

This gathering is more than just a retreat; it’s a sacred space where connections flourish and spirits are uplifted. The days are filled with group sessions and outdoor activities that inspire personal growth and spiritual renewal, while evenings bring time for sunset swims, campfires, and prayer and worship under the starry sky.

The serene environment of Galilee provides the perfect backdrop for cultivating new friendships and strengthening existing ones. Together, we celebrate our diverse experiences and wisdom, fostering a community rooted in love and understanding. Whether we are sharing stories, engaging in creative projects, or simply enjoying the silence of nature, every moment contributes to a tapestry of collective wisdom and joy.
