Galilee
Board Focuses Oversight Efforts with
Updated Vision, Mission, Values, and Goals
Following the Diocesan Convention in the fall of 2002, the Galilee
Board was restructured to attract additional ministry gifts and
prepare for the intended future growth in facilities. The Board has an Annual Meeting each November and meets at least four times a year.
Building
on the substantial work of previous Galilee Boards, we have affirmed
many of the basic tenants that the camp has been striving to achieve.
Our vision reflects a desired future plan that is compelling and,
with sustained effort, realistically achievable. Our mission identifies
how we intend to achieve that vision. Please review the Vision and
Mission that are expressed at the top of the GECCC Management page.
Your feedback can be helpful to us, so please share your thoughts
and comments with us. We continue to strive to fulfill the expectations
of the Diocese and to realize the potential of Galilee. Inarguably
to anyone who has experienced Galilee, it is truly one of the most
spiritual, inspiring gifts from God to everyone in the Diocese.
We continue to strive to fulfill the expectations of the Diocese
and to realize the potential of Galilee.
The
Board has also identified specific behavioral actions and agreed
that our future success as a mission community, as well as our ability
to execute our Vision, Mission and Goals, depends on upholding these
values. Each Board member has signed a Value statement which follows:
- Our
decisions are based on our Vision and Mission statements.
-
We are optimistic and look for the positive intent of others.
-
We keep our commitments.
-
We operate with integrity and mutual respect for diverse opinions.
-
We use time efficiently when we work together and independently.
-
We prepare for meetings and do our homework.
-
We are expeditious in responding to inquiries and in working with
each other.
-
We believe that it's important to have open honest exchange of
information.
-
We are open to change.
-
We validate opinions before making judgments.
-
We embrace learning from and with each other.
-
We confront each other respectfully when we are not upholding
these values.
The
Board established some concrete short-term goals. We have, and will
continue to, evaluate our performance against these goals at least
once annually. The goals headed by perpetuating the spiritual environment
at Galilee include management, operations, financing and marketing.
We believe we are working together to move Galilee in a most positive
direction.
If
you have skills or talents that can assist in realizing the vision,
accomplishing the mission and achieving the goals, you are heartily
invited by the Galilee Board to contact any of us members. We look
forward to hearing from you. The Galilee Board of Trustees
