The Outdoor Wilderness Cathedral for the Episcopal Church in Nevada.

More a tradition than a place, Galilee is about community, friendship, and fun in one of the most beautiful examples of God's creation. Galilee Episcopal Camp and Conference Center (GECCC) is located on stunning waterfront property at Lake Tahoe owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. The camp and conference center is managed by the Galilee Board of Trustees working in cooperation withSt. John's in the Wilderness, and The Diocese.

Galilee: 1920 - 2000
Rev. Jim Stickney, Pastor St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Albany CA

(Unfortunately this book is no longer available.)

Over the summer or 2001, I had a two-month Sabbatical from the church I serve in Albany, California and spent the time at Camp Galilee in Lake Tahoe. I interviewed dozens of people with Galilee experience, and spent many rewarding hours in the archives of the Diocese. The result is "A History of Galilee," which is now available for sale.

The history is organized "by Bishop," beginning with Bishop Hunting in 1920. Over the course of eight Bishops, you can trace Galilee's triumphs and trials. Issues which seem new today have deep roots in the past. By observing and celebrating what took place over several decades, those who work for Galilee can find solid perspective and cause for joy.
